Coaching Pathway – Red, Orange & Green Ball
The program follows Tennis Australia’s Hot Shots development pathway, using modified balls, courts, and equipment to suit each age group and ability level:
-
Red Ball (Prep & Year 1)
Uses a larger, softer ball on a smaller court to help younger students develop basic movement skills, hand-eye coordination, and simple rallying in a fun and engaging way.
-
Orange Ball (Years 2 & 3)
Introduces a slightly faster ball and larger court, allowing students to refine stroke technique, improve rally consistency, and begin learning basic tactics and scoring.
-
Green Ball (Years 4–6)
Played on a near full-sized court with a ball slightly softer than a standard tennis ball. This stage focuses on developing control, court awareness, match play skills, and confidence in preparation for full tennis.
